The Future is a region in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall and its fan revivals. It was an apocalyptic time period in the near future where Fuse had nearly overtaken and absorbed the Earth. Thanks to the efforts of the Avatar however, this time period has been averted, having been erased from history thanks to the efforts in the Past.[1]

Region description[]

In the Future, Planet Fusion was closer to Earth than in the Past, and most of the areas found in the Past as well had been destroyed after having been flooded by a sea of Fusion Matter. In addition, this Fusion Matter sea seemed to had eaten away at the rest of the planet's surface, putting the infected sea at a lower elevation. Certain surviving areas, now island-like plateaus that are all that are left of Earth in this time period, from the Suburbs were connected by fragile wooden bridges.

In the Future, Sector V and more predominantly Peach Creek Commons had become the main hubs and bases of Earth's remaining resistance. Most of the transportation systems were destroyed, as the Slider had fallen to pieces in Genius Grove; only two S.C.A.M.P.E.R.s and four Monkey Skyway Agents remain to travel around with. Apart from the Tech Square, there are just five accessible Infected Zones with three Fusion Lairs among them, spread across eight areas. Also, the Sweet Revenge, which had sunken below the ground, would lie on the half of Candy Cove itself that had eroded from Fusion Matter. In addition, the infection in Sector V's KND Training Area, which had yet to be contained by energy shields in the Past, had grown into an Infected Zone in the Future.

Fusion Invasion[]

The Future[]

In the Future, the Avatar was accidentally thrown into this time period's Tech Square while testing Dexter's Time Machine. Not long after getting on their feet, the Avatar was guided through the initial chaos by Computress, Ben, and Numbuh Five, during which they were given their first weapon before being thrust into the middle of the battle for Tech Square, where many heroes were fighting for what was left of the area. After surviving their first fight with Fusion Monsters, the Avatar would learn that Lord Fuse had almost destroyed Earth. They would then be assigned to Numbuh Two for a mission before being sent into Fusion Buttercup's Lair to help Dexter. There, the Avatar and Dexter defeated Fusion Buttercup, which earned the Avatar their first Nano.

Escaping the lair on the behest of Dexter, the Avatar met a Tech Wing standing in their way to a S.C.A.M.P.E.R.. By Stunning it with their Nano however, the Avatar managed to narrowly escape Tech Square as it sank into the Fusion Matter sea. Arriving then on a DexCarrier, Dexter sent a message to the remaining heroes, assuring them that he would be fine and explaining that between Numbuh Two and Mandark, the Time Machine could be repaired in order to sent the player to the Past and help them win the war.

Arriving in Sector V, the Avatar went to work. During their time in the Future, they received missions that involved repairing the Time Machine. By the time the Avatar had acquired four Nanos, the Time Machine had been repaired, prompting the Avatar to use it to go back to the Past with the key to foiling the Fusion Invasion of Earth: the Nanos.[2]
