The S.C.A.M.P.E.R.[1] (Shabby Camper Actually Makes Perfect Emergency Rescumabob[2]), or SCAMPER,[2] is an object in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall and its fan revivals. It is a standard-issue Kids Next Door shuttle.

History[]

Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall[]

Fusion Invasion[]

The Future[]
Scamper escapes

A S.C.A.M.P.E.R. escapes the doomed Tech Square

When Tech Square beings to fall, Numbuh Two directs the hero to a S.C.A.M.P.E.R. so that both can make their escape. While the hero is racing towards the S.C.A.M.P.E.R., a Tech Wing attacks him. The hero counters the attack by having his Buttercup Nano Stun it. The two successfully escape Tech Square as it begins to destroy itself completely.

The Past[]
R-Numbuh-1014-Forsaken-Valley

A female S.C.A.M.P.E.R. pilot in Forsaken Valley, from Retrobution.

S.C.A.M.P.E.R.s transport the player from one place to another, just as do another form of transportation, the Monkey Skyway Agents, though rather more rapidly.  The long-range S.C.A.M.P.E.R system has two stations in The Future and five stations in The Past. The places are Peach Creek Commons, City Station, Endsville, Mount Blackhead, and Forsaken Valley. To use the S.C.A.M.P.E.R., the player clicks on the attendant and selects a destination. There is a fee for using a S.C.A.M.P.E.R, with prices increasing in proportion to the Level of the destination. Though more expensive than using a Monkey Skyway Agent, it is also considerably quicker: there is no flying screen; warping displays the loading screen, just as with warp gates and Fusion Portals; and the player simply appears at the destination when the program has finished loading. There is a S.C.A.M.P.E.R. in Orchid Bay (in the Academy version of the game) that warps players to Sector V, though there is no S.C.A.M.P.E.R. back to Orchid Bay. There is a mission with Numbuh Two involving the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.

  • On 6 August 2009, the players would land next to the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. attendant on Mandark's ship in Forsaken Valley safe and sound instead of landing under the ship when warping to that location with a S.C.A.M.P.E.R. Also, all of the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. attendants that were looking the wrong way were readjusted to look the right way.[5]
  • On 9 February 2010, the Kumari Serpents were added to the game, replacing the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.s in Monkey Foothills and Forsaken Valley that served as the method of shuttling players between said areas.[6]
  • On 26 May 2010, the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. in Sector V was replaced with a non-interactable Providence Jump Jet. This change affected the missions associated with it, namely "Helping Numbuh Two (Part 2 of 3)" and "Helping Numbuh Two (Part 3 of 3)".[7] Also, a warp portal in the form of a S.C.A.M.P.E.R. and its attendant was added to Orchid Bay as a way of shuttling players back to Sector V.

Origin[]

Cartoon-SCAMPER

A S.C.A.M.P.E.R., from Codename: Kids Next Door.

The S.C.A.M.P.E.R. (Shabby Camper Actually Makes Perfect Emergency Rescumabob) originates from the 2002 American animated television series Codename: Kids Next Door. In that media, it is presented as a standard-issue aircraft vehicle for members of the Kids Next Door organization. A product of the Kids Next Door's exclusive 2x4 technology, it is basically a camper van with rockets attached to it. Although primarily an emergency escape and rescue shuttle, it also comes equipped with armaments, such as missiles. It can as well transform into the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.-S.O.O.P.R.E.M.E. (Shabby Camper Actually Makes Perfect Emergency Rescue-Shuttle Obviously Overwelmingly Providing Really Excellent Massive Extras), an alternate mode with additional weapons and rocket propulsion.

Over the course of the series, the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. has been used by various sectors in the Kids Next Door.
